Today has been a good day for our whole family! We had Riley's first birthday "perfectly purple park party" (say that five times fast!) this morning and it was a hit! She had such a great time playing with all her friends, she completely dug into the frosting on the cupcake, and she got some wonderful presents that she is playing with right now as I am typing. (her new elmo phone, and purse) Thank you to all that came...you made her day so special to all of us!
Bree is doing pretty wonderful today too! She started 'feeds' (breastmilk) yesterday. She gets one CC every six hours, and she has been tolerating them well. They check her stomach after every time and they are getting minimal residual back, which is what they want to be seeing. She is on 21% oxygen, which is almost room air! She has a brain ultras
ound on monday to check her brain bleeds.
We stopped in and saw Bree today because we had to take my cousin to the airport. (the hospital is like ten minutes away from there) She does have to have a blood transfusion today, but it has been over a week since she has had one! For a while there it was every other day she was getting them.
We are so proud of her, and for how strong she is...she amazes and inspires me on a daily basis. I feel so blessed to be her Mama, and I am sure Adam feels the same way. Both of our girls are such a blessing to us...I love my two beautiful little girls!
